Musician / Producer / Engineer

Biography

With a Bachelor’s degree in Music Theory, Composition, & Electronic Music, Kyle spent the first 12 years of his professional career as a musician on the road. He played keyboards for a dozen or more bands including Augustus Gloop and Copper Sails, who both reached critical acclaim and mass appeal, sold more than 5,000 self-produced CDs, and licensed work to ESPN, MTV and Budweiser.

Settling in Central Virginia, Kyle built his home around a project studio where he produced and mixed several recordings for local and regional acts. In 2008, Kyle opened Lakeside Studio in Ruther Glen, VA and in 2010, he joined the team at Sound of Music Recording Studios and eventually became a business partner.

Kyle’s resume includes working with The Dreamscapes Project, Copper Sails, Chris Yurchuck, Drew Kullman, Scattered Smothered & Covered, 3 Borne, Chili Sauce, We Love 2 Rumble, Wynn Walent, Mike Koehler, The Family Joules, Karmaru, Butterfield, The Voodoo Fishermen, and The Fade Look.

As Sound of Music’s primary Studio B engineer, Kyle appealed to the “Working Class Musicians” who wanted the SOM experience and a no-compromise recording on a budget. He specialized in EP’s as well as full length recordings for small to mid-sized pop, rock, indie, and country bands as well as acoustic ensembles and singer / songwriters.

Kyle left Sound of Music in 2012 to try to make it on his own.  Within a year, he co-founded River City Recording with former Sound of Music colleagues, Zach Fichter and Mark McDonald.  Stay tuned for more information about River City Recording!
